About
Sara
I've spent the last five years working in start-up tech companies, helping them build content strategy from the ground up, pinpoint what messages drive conversions, and tell customers' stories.
Since they've been start-ups, it's also meant that I've done a lot more than write blog posts or set up a content calendar. I've set up referral programs, hosted podcast series, brainstormed event engagement strategies, and gotten in the weeds with Google Ads, AI-powered search and visibility, and overall marketing strategy.
I started my career as a newspaper reporter, covering everything from small-town festivals to high-profile murder cases. I interviewed incarcerated gang members, analyzed every facet of government spending and covered the devastating landfall of Hurricane Ike in Galveston while living in the damaged newspaper headquarters.
As a journalist, I fine-tuned the ability to lay aside distractions and see the most important part of any story. I also developed an insatiable desire to get the full story and answer the questions not everyone knew to ask. I now use those skills to help businesses listen and learn through my research services and articulate their stories to leave a lasting impact on their audiences. While my projects are varied, they all share a few key elements. They involve well-researched ideas, frequently rely on forming connections with people and produce a compelling story.
